À LA's first publication, In the Manner Of: 01, a limited edition featuring Tyler Mitchell's photographs and prose from his 2026 trip to Arita and Fukuoka, Japan. 

"As an image-maker, one dreams of such an opportunity: to arrive somewhere entirely new, with fresh eyes, and bear witness to regions of the world as special as Arita and Fukuoka Japan. To forensically study its details, from the ashy powder blue and rusted brick tones of a barrel left outside a porcelain atelier, to the rolling shades of green and brown in the garden of our ryokan in Yanagawa. The stones and walls of the town told us a story, and we simply had to lift our antennae and be receptive. The team at the atelier were equal parts amused and perplexed by our fascination with the textures they found quotidian. But such is the work of the image. In new environments you take everything in like a newborn, studying every surface and learning how within each is a profound story. With its patina-washed surfaces, its rich history, and its reverence for the beauty and craft of porcelain, Arita became the ground on which to tell a part of the story of À LA."
